Mandy Fason was born and raised around the beautiful lakes and mountains of Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas.  She trained in ballet, tap, and jazz for over 16 years.  With a love for theatre,music, and big dreams of being a film actress, she moved to Los Angeles after high school to study acting at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, CA.  As a single mother, she continued acting in theatre and working in the commercial and print world in Dallas, Texas while attaining a degree in English with a concentration in literature and a minor in theatre from the University of North Texas.  Her two children have always been her driving force teaching her how strong she can be.  She now resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she works in the television and film industry. Mandy is a 479 Union member, Sag/Aftra actress, and published writer. Mandy’s children’s book, Lavender & Butterflies, her first book publication, is also available in Spanish Lavender & Mariposas

 

Mandy is developing a children’s curriculum to accompany the book that will empower self-esteem, teach empathy, and instill environmental conscienceless in young children.

She has built a career working in various positions making feature films, music videos, television series and commercials as a model, actress, costumer, director, script supervisor, and producer.

Mandy produced over 50 commercials ranging in budget size from 30K to 1.5M, she was in house producer for Dillard’s satellite programming and corporate/industrial video producer for Dillard’s, Baptist Health, NPMC, St. Joseph’s Regional Health Care, Terminix, TCBY, Yarnell Ice Cream, Chenal Properties, Southwestern Bell, United Way, Affiliated Foods, and the Human Society. Producing for clients such as Stone & Ward Advertising at Dempsey Film Group, ten of her commercials were Addy winners; 3 Gold Addy Awards, 3 Silver Addy Awards, and 4 Bronze Addy Awards.  She has independently produced award winning short films including Too Little Too Late which won an Earth Day award and screened as an international finalist for the IPic Movie theaters on Earth Day 2012.  Mandy has produced two feature length documentaries.  She was an associate producer for Billy Bob Thornton’s portrait of country outlaw Willie Nelson in The King of Luck, bringing in the last funds for post.  And most recently as lead producer for five years from concept to completion, documentary Ali’s Comeback; The Untold Story was recently acquired by Vision Films and is now available on all streaming platforms.

Mandy has been the guest choreographer for several high school musical productions in Arkansas and Georgia. As a pioneer in making live theater happen, after the closing of over 18 theaters in the greater Atlanta area, Mandy produced over 20 theatrical productions in dinner theaters for Theater of The South Theatricals and worked to establish the Vineyard Cafe Dinner Theatre in Marietta, GA that had a successful four year run before closing due to the recent COVID pandemic shut down.

As an actor Mandy is passionate, vulnerable, and committed. As a scenic painter and costumer she has worked in the trenches with crews and proved herself strong and dependable as well as a leader and asset to her department.   As a writer and script supervisor, she is a stickler for homework and detail with precision focus. As a filmmaker, she ensures every piece maintains the integrity of the story, vision, and end goal for her team by overseeing complex day to day operations and executing a daily work schedule that meets demands of shooting schedules and budgets.

Kerri Elder and Joey Lauren Adams of several films she helped in the developmental stages working in connection to Christopher Crane, the Arkansas Film Commissioner.  Jason Ensler, director of The Passage and other iconic films and television series. Geoff Johns, creator, show runner, and producer of DC’s Stargirl and Alisha Silverstein, costume designer of Stargirl Season 2. Mandy was Sylvester Stallone’s personal costumer for his feature film, Samaritan. She curated period looks on HBO’s Watchmen, as well as the personal costumer to Jean Smart and Don Johnson.

Mandy is a seasoned professional with experience following the inner departmental duties of tv/film production from start to finish. She managed responsibilities overseeing super suits valued over 3 million dollars for major network television, office key costumer leading set operations for super suits and background. She understands the needs and demands within crew departments and how each department within the whole scope of a production works symbiotically to achieve the end goal. Wether working on set, curating contemporary or period looks, writing, or producing, the thread line is her creativity, professionalism, and expert approach to her craft.
